When The Clock Strikes Anew

By Ysa Pagud - June 10, 2023

In the middle of every tick when fallacies are unbound, do we start over only as the long hands linger on 12 or rectify on what’s left of the hour?

Plagued with time as indication of one’s beginning, letting time pass by until we gain the courage to start what we should have.

5:18 seems to be unreasonable to initiate our thoughts in place; hence we wait to when the hour pass by 6:00 to get ready until it becomes 6:18 and you forgot a plan to start 18 minutes prior. A cycle to get it right, ‘til we waste every waking minute because we constrict our day with numbers.

We deal with our nuisances when the clocks strike anew, because it’s comforting to start again when the day is pristine– until the cycle of traitorous intrusive thoughts kick in and you’re back to waiting for dawn and you’re too late to recover.

Treating the first appearances of our morning as pristine as it is, then forget we stopped living past sunsets because dawns are meant to provide great beginnings– so when we negligently wake up at 11am we feel fucked up because we lost our chance to start fresh.

Stop chasing sunrises to get a hold of your life, begin when your clock strikes anew. Our planet doesn’t stop revolving, so don’t let 5:18 pause your world and resume ‘til life gets precious at 6:00– you write your own damn plot at your pace.

“In the meantime, I’ll carry out whatever it takes to make this day full regardless of the figures being presented by society as a category for productivity,”
