The abundance of ocean outside your doorstep is beyond a dream. Waking up to the hymn of waves, the crisp smell of water flowing, and even the smooth sand to trail on while brisk walking. It is another way to absorb the serene vibe, the one you cannot get away living inside a city.

Pagudpud and Bolinao are two of the places we’ve been through. Respectively, Saud and Patar White Beach. It will take more than 14 hrs. [if you’re commuting with your car] to arrive on Saud Beach without taking plane from MNL to Laoag. Alongside, 7 hours from MNL to Patar. Upon arrival, we were greeted by huts and shacks lining the beach. Most of our time was spent sunbathing, reading, and then cooling off in the icy water. I lay on the beach soaking up the sun while time slowed to a crawl, only getting up occasionally to buy something from the food shacks when we felt peckish. Since the island's hotel offers an hour free kayak, we took the moment to ride and paddle our ass up to enjoy the entire view.

The coast has always been a place where I felt right at home. Maybe it's got to do with being born and raised in a tropical island - although more often than not we're surrounded by skyscrapers rather than seawater.
